Me & dear public
Welcome to the Blog! My name is Marsha. I am a retired 9-1-1 Instructor and Policy Writer turned Business Owner. I’m a Christian, mother, widow and an advocate of healthy self care practices that bring about wholeness, all while striving to stay on the narrow road.
I have never dispatched fire or medical resources so the perspective I express in my writing is solely focused around the dispatch of the police. Also, you will undoubtedly find run on sentences, made up punctuation and sentences that end in prepositions.
I birthed this blog to engage in candid conversations around the public’s responsibility when calling the police and their impact on, and complicity in law enforcement incident outcomes; a case for the evolution and role expansion of the police operator in public safety; and community based public safety alternatives to police response in instances of harm. I look forward to ongoing and ever evolving conversations around the concept of safety and our collective responsibility to achieving it.
God placed me and used me in a law enforcement institution and system that I did not and do not trust, in order to bear the fruit of His spirit in that space. It was a heavy burden and I was able to endure only by His grace and mercy. I pray that during my tenure there, I brought Him glory.
Let’s get into it.
